The Click Up is an auto-locking belay device with an innovative design. Its construction allows the HMS carabiner to move up the central channel which blocks the movement of the rope, effectively locking the rope in place in the event of a fall. The rope is easily freed from this position by pushing the device up in a 'scooping' motion.
The Click Up allows for smooth and easy rope handling and is an incredibly safe belay device to use in the gym or at the crag. Effective belaying is also possible even if the rope is incorrectly installed in the device (if the live rope and the dead rope are in a reversed position) due to specific tapered friction notches.
Despite auto-locking capabilities, always practice appropriate belaying technique when using this, or any, belay device. Never take your hand off the dead rope!
